Bobby Darin (May 14, 1936 -- December 20, 1973), born Walden Robert Cassotto, was an American singer, actor and accomplished musician.[1]

Darin performed in a range of music genres, including pop, rock, jazz, folk and country. Although unknown to the public, his health was dangerously fragile and strongly motivated him to succeed within the limited lifetime he feared he would, and ultimately did, have.

Darin married Sandra Dee; they met while making the film Come September (1961). They made a few more movies together at Universal Studios that were moderately successful. They had one son, Dodd Mitchell Darin (also known as Morgan Mitchell Darin). Darin and Dee divorced in 1967.

He was also an actor, singer/songwriter and music business entrepreneur. His wish for a legacy was "to be remembered as a human being and as a great performer."[2] Among his many other contributions, he became a goodwill ambassador for the American Heart Association.

  • This song fills me with emotion. Vietnam took me from the love of my life in 1970. Desperate to escape a dysfunctional family life, she married a man she did'nt love two years later. Unbeknownst to me, she searched for me for 38 years until she finally found me on Classmates in August of 2010. By then, she was critically ill. We had five beautiful months together until I lost her in her sleep in January of 2011. Nothing is guaranteed! Before you go to bed tonight, say "I love you" to your love!

  • awesome song!! 1st time ever I heard it, was on an episode of 'The Wonder Years" when I was a kid

  • It is shocking to me that he died so young - at he age of 37, that is more than 20 years younger than I am. :-( I love him.

  • @twangville It was a delight to have this version and the one followed a couple of years later by the Four Tops. I was coming into manhood then and it conjured up many visions--as it was intended.

  • Incredible song and singer.

  • great great song ,sung by a great great man !!!!! much love

  • best version

  • One of the last hit songs by the late great Bobby Darin.

  • Thanks for this... my only disappointment is that it never lasted long enough, but what memories are born from hearing it!
