Pinpression Animated

Animating the pins was a techinical challenge. I created a separate scene and animated the elements I wanted to appear in the pins. and applied the resulting video as a displacement map to a mesh. the mesh had the pins scattered to each vert.

displacement map was done using Zdepth and an orthographic camera. Render a video out with a resolution no smaller than the matrix of pins 44x60 (44pins across 60pins down). This reduces unnecessary data because each pin is basically a pixel.

I think what I understand, could be a displacement map with a number of pixels equals the number of pins of Pinart?

Exactly. Each pixel is roughly controlling one pin.
