A few shots from inside the engine room of Class 35 D7076 during a prep turn by myself and Chris Tatton. Preheating, De-compressing, Barring 1 full engine revolution, fuel bleed.
Now that is real dedication, barring over one of these V 16s.I bet it sort of get's you
a little Breathless!!.I would love to be involved with these old German Engines
and Transmissions.I know they were built by Hawker but it is a German design and therefore built to very high tolerances. These Locomotives would have been running up until the late 90s or
even the mid 21 Century if they had been
treated in the proper manner. The Warships were "THRASHED" Day in and Day out.14 Coach Trains.

Is the preheater a burner heating inlet manifold?
do u have to bar it over before every start up or had it been stood a while?
is it to be sure no liquid is in cylinders?

Hi Warship. That's 2 full engine revolutions we barred it over for which is 1 full 4 stroke cycle.
