Santiago de Chile - Santa Lucia Hill & Plaza de Armas

Santa Lucía Hill in the centre of Santiago, Chile is adorned with ornate facades, stairways and fountains. Here the Spanish conquistador built a stronghold and a watch point to control the surroundings. Visitors visit Cerro Santa Lucia to admire the ornate architecture inlcuidng Terraza Neptuno and climb up to the summit to admire the City's panoramic views.

Plaza de Armas is the downtown's centre point where there are some colonial architecture including the Catedral Metropolitana, Palacio de la Real Audiencia (Now the Museo Historico) and the Correo Central. This Correo central was the former house of Pedro De Valdivia, the Spanisch concuistador.
