@Paintinprettypicture It's because they were introduced as products of ECW, rather than new WWE superstars. Vince likes to create his own wrestlers or repackage experienced wrestlers to be like new again. He then introduces them as new wrestlers to the company, and they move forward with a fresh start. Wrestlers like Jericho, Austin & Foley only referenced ECW after they became secure in their place with the company. While "the ECW guys" will always be associated with that time period.
