A motorcyclist man tries to pull into layby to report another accident he has seen, but meets with an accident. Luckily he is only badly bruised due to the wearing a hard trouser and hat and coat.

I'll catch hell for this, but it looks like the motorcyclist was at fault here. He changed lanes directly into the path of that van as he (the motorcycle) was clearly braking heavily. Now, he might have been slowing to report another accident, but he probably should've exercised more concern for his own safety first. He's incredibly lucky that he didn't collide with that van about fifteen feet back. He would been thrown into the back of the parked car or ricocheted back into traffic.

@compaq2441 Who says that the woman officer is a rookie? They don't usually put rookies on motorway patrols. The male officer was calling for support and ambulance on his radio which he would do walking. He was also assessing the scene. The first rule at any accident scene is don't put yourself in danger. Police officers have been killed and injured when attending RTAs

@Ashley47808 He didn't just realise he was on video you plonker. The video was running in the police car he had been driving. It is kept running on highway patrols. One officer had run forward to attend to the casualty, he had to inform the police centre that an accident had taken place. That would put into place a train of actions to divert traffic from the scene and ensure the safety of other road users. There is no point in running about like a headless chicken. He stayed calm.

This has been mentioned countless times already - the male officer was using his radio to summon an ambulance & assistance, not something you'd do running. He is also clamly assessing the situation as per training, appraising the scene for any additional danger. What is expected. he runs down there whilst using his airwave trips & breaks his elbow?
