How many of our elected officials have to take a drug test? Does the guy with his finger on the button get tested? Clinton couldn't have passed. Bush stopped showing up for military medical appointments when they started testing. Oh, and publish the results.

@bleedingxhearts2 Don't be stupid. Drug use is prevalent among lower income folks. That's not stereotypical, that's demographics. The government will actually SAVE money in the long run by testing people.

Drug tests are CHEAP. Urine tests are usually under $50, and hair tests are closer to the $150 range. If the government contracts out the testing, they'll be able to get it done for much less per test due to sheer volume. As a conservative estimate, let's say an individual receives $8000 per year in federal aid. If the government can get tests done for $20, they would need only one out of 400 people to fail a test in order to "break even" on the testing cost. That's only 0.25%.

@iamdlerch Hey fuck head. $500,000,000,000 a year is NOT pittance. That's BILLION. The few hundred million for piss tests is not even 1 fucking percent of how much welfare costs. All the people who fail the piss test would save us BILLIONS of dollars a year, and it's completely worth the investment. Get a fucking education before you come on here spouting off useless rhetoric.
