  • Karen was broadcast on BTQ7 Brisbane back in 1969. Karen was likely broadcast on certain other Australian channels during the 1960s.

  • Yes! this is what we need on TV. Look how far TV Land has went into the toilet.High School Reunion--She's Got The Look-and the absolute bottom of the barrel-The Cougar. A new Classic TV channel is DEFINITELY in order.

  • Lots of prescient wonders in this clip. Like the bit about bell-bottoms at 4:27. Later on that year, Sonny & Cher would hit big and bell-bottoms would be all the rage once again. And then there's the joke about getting a John Lennon tattoo at 5:17 which nowadays wouldn't be uncommon for most teenagers. At the time, the writers just thought the Animals and the Beatles were fodder for topical humor, and never could've dreamed they'd still be more relevant and popular than ever in the 21st century.

  • opening credits displayed on a rotating vinyl record - - this appears to have influenced whomever designed the opening credits for the u.s. tv series "happy days" a few years later.

  • Ringo on her arm back then likely meant attached to Ringo romantically not a tattoo, guess expressions get lost over time.

  • @handinside Tom, Dick, and Mary...i was very young at the time, but i do remember karen (probably because of the beach boys song) and harris against the world....but not tom, dick and mary

this was a great time for tv...all the networks took chances...network tv is soooo boring now

  • @brabon1 I knmow one of these was called "Harris agaibst the World" But what was the other one?

  • @handinside There's a new station called Antenna TV that's now showing classic TV shows and movies. Maybe Karen will turn up there sometime!

  • This reminds me of Gidget, except not on the beach...

  • This is an unusual series, mainly because it was produced by Kayro-Vue and

Universal, around the same time that "THE MUNSTERS" was still running on CBS.

any one who remembers Richard Denning will tell you, that he went on to play The

    Governor in "HAWAII FIVE-O"

  • Bob Mosher and Joe Connely created and produces this sitcom; the markings of Leave it to Beaver are all over it. It's the female version.

  • The transistor radio - was a big new technology back then
