Mohd. Rafi Sahab was in a league of his own. As a singer I can say that Rafi sahab's songs are the most difficult to do justice on stage.
Although Manna Dey was always technically brilliant, the versatility that Rafi sahab could bring to the table is unbeatable. As a playback singer, understanding the emotion in context with the script and delivering a moving rendition of a composition are of paramount importance. Rafi Sahab did that consistently.
Pure musical genius = Late. Mohd. Rafi sahab.

I guess u haven't yet seen the versatality of Kishore Kumar. I think he is the true genius although Mohd. Rafi is a class in his own in which no one can beat him.
