  • The PCC is a beautiful trolley, the PCC II a great restoration job, and it cannot be forgotten that if it weren't for the humble PCC, there would be no more trams in North America. We love them. We grew up with them. They're part of the fabric of American urban society. Perhaps they will grow on you some day.

  • Actually, Prokur, the electric tram is an American innovation, and yes, we call trams either streetcars or trolleys in North America for the most part. This is called a PCC II trolley, and it has been serving the public nobly since the 1930's. It's classed as II because it has been completely refurbished and made handicap-accessible. This type of trolley has served North America extremely well, and PCC technology is used on tram systems worldwide, though with varying physical characteristics.
