For DK, you're better off throwing them just below the tip of the ledge. It causes opponents to die if they don't tech.

with Kirby you could also just spit your opponent out under the stage and fly back up where most others wouldn't make it.

and I love doing the bowser one when both having 1 life left only. the opponent usually dies first, making bowser win.

When using Kirby, sometimes you can spit your opponent out and fly back up to the stage. That works better if your opponent can't jump well.
