Just to be safe, get in the habit of doing the "cowboy load" or " John Wayne load" as it's sometimes called. This means to load one,skip one,load four. So when the cylinder makes its full rotation the hammer will rest on a empty camber making it safe to carry.

The colt1911 is 100 yrs.old and thats a gas operated semi auto magazine fed pistol so this colt cownoy style single.action pistol has alot.more years. Of design use but yes great.gun
