This is dual exhaust on a 99 Dodge Durango with the 5.9 V-8 Magnum, not the 5.2, the very rare 5.9. no muffler, just 2.25'' pipe from the cat back to 3.5'' stainless tips.

  • @BlindReaper74 yea man i bet you it sounds mean i need to get a new muffler or exhaust put on mine it is starting to annoy me.

  • i had a glass pack on too when i originally did stuff to it, i think it sounded weird because the place where i got the glass pack at said that dual exhaust couldnt be put on my truck, and the glass pack only sounded good where it was at, at the tail pipe it sounded like a stock exhaust so i went to another place and i just told them i wanted it to be loud, so they cut off the piece of shit glass pack and just ran pipe where the muffler is supposed to be, and now it is louder and deeper!

  • I have the 5.2 V8 Mag in mine. Just installed a Thrush Welded muffer, kept the stock 2 1/4 piping size.... sound nice. Not loud enough to wake the neighbors, which is nice and but you can tell it has balls now.

  • im so glad we have "Car and Driver" here to tell us what a dual exhaust set up is.... without that I would have no clue! lol

  • Its not true dual.true. Just after the headers, the exhaust is combined into one tube using a Y-pipe. Thats what you have or had.True Duals are pipes running all the way from each manifold to the tailpipes, they can't be choked down in a "Y" then come back out as dual, or both run in to one muffler. The "H" pipe can increase horsepower, quiet things down a bit and smooth out the engine, but depends on the rest of the setup how much benefit there really is to adding the H.

  • I got a 4.7L v8 durango and its got a glasspack on after the cat would it have more rumbling and shit if i took out the glasspack and put a straight pipe in like yours?
