NihilSineDeo is my wife by the way...we are both watching your videos while our mouths are watering and we can't wait to be back in the States so we can try making all of these. Yes, im the one that sold the rice maker hahaha...i got greedy and then I regret it when i realized how easy it is to cook with it :) We need to get another

@NihilSineDeo09 Wifey would kill me if I even SUGGESTED to sell the rice maker! Honestly, these things are a God-sent for how much easier cooking is with them - one of the best investments in the kitchen we ever made.

i now regret selling our rice cooker :)

Hello, I noticed that Japanese housewives like to cook rice in a cast iron pot besides a rice cooker. Is there any difference in the cooked rice using these two methods? Thank you=]

@gdgal128 I think this is 1 of our best questions yet! So, there IS a difference, but it's very subtle and most people would probably not notice or think it's worth the time for the difference in taste. A good analogy would probably be with propane vs charcol vs wood burning BBQ grills in the USA. Is there a difference? Yes. Can most people tell? Probably not. Do most people think it's worth the extra investment in time for the difference in taste? Nope. Thanks for the question :D

@LaCalavera86 GOOD LUCK! If you have any questions feel free to comment & ask :) The first time is the most fun, even though it can seem challenging as you navigate it for the first time. This is special so be sure to enjoy it :D

Does it really matter if u add the salt in? And also the brown sugar vs the regular sugar?
mzbeautifulmess 1 month ago
@mzbeautifulmess Very good questions - the wife says that the salt is VERY important for the flavoring of the rice in your sushi. She also says that regular sugar is only used in sweets (cakes, etc) in Japan, so, she's never tried it in rice but thinks the rice will come out too sweet for sushi - but, since she's never done it, can't say for sure. Hope this was helpful! EXCELLENT questions!
