  • Dude, for not caring about the war you went on about it for a bit. I agree with your point about advertising with the flag. However the 9 times out of 10 thing? You know that 56.35% of statistics are made up. But seriously, symbols are important. Take a wedding ring--try not wearing one for a week and see if the wife is cool with it. Or would you trust bank with your money if their main branch had a filthy lobby with a bunch of tellers wearing tin foil on their head. Symbols are important.

  • LOL...tin foil hat tellers... See thats an appearance though... and you proved my point its not the ring that makes the marriage amazing or that helped you fall in love in the first place. And the appearance of employees at a store/bank are reflective of that particular business. A better example would have been what if you walked into a bank and they had the Japanese Yen symbol all over the place and a Japanese Flag on the pole in the corner and every one appeared to be Japanese. Good Bank?

  • You don't know war. Sorry, you just can't. As far as a symbol, yes it is. The Constitution, as the Bill of Rights, are legal documents. Remember? This country was under the thumb of a king, then.

Free flags?? What a sense of entitlement you have. Yes the war is about freedom. Not yours or mine, neccesarily. For good or bad, we got sucked into a war that should have been a civil war between inept factions who think nothing of the mass killing of innocents.

  • Hey well said, hey I just figure that if I can get printed material for free... bibles, phone books, (i know advertisers pay for them) , but like I said I figure with the billions of dollars going into the War any way... why not give free flags... it was just a thought. I agree with the first part too... no I do not "know" war... I never fought in one so thats impossible...I should have worded that different and sorry if I offended you. again Thanx for your comment

  • You look kinda like Scott Thompson from Kids In The Hall. Thumbs up :D

  • I get that every now and again...lol...thanx

  • HEY MORON, DID YOU SAY IUD???????? YOU MEAN IED IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICE. I GUESS YOU "GRADIEATIED" TOP OF YOUR CLASS

THUMBS DOWN AND YES THE FLAG WAS DISGRACED

  • I will agree with you on the putting the flag on material objects. But really you have no idea what your talking about, or maybe you do, and don't, but really man, you disappoint me as a fellow American. But thanks for supporting us!

  • fuck yeh

  • maybe you don't understand, the purpose of the art is not to disrespect a piece cloth, its to show disrespect for veterans, our culture, and conservatism. Funny how you never see conservatives burning or stomping on flags of our enemies, because its petty, and its disrespectful....maybe that hole in your ear is letting your brains leak out, anyways, props to you for sharing your voice, I may not agree with your opinion, but I respect your right to voice it

  • I see nothing wrong with the art project.

Who cares, it's a fucking flag. It represents more than a peice of cloth, these ignorant military juggernauts take it too far.

  • What a bunch of double talk and double standard from someone who enjoys the freedom but has no clue what it has taken, is taking or is going to take to keep that freedom.

  • I love this double standard of saying that someone has "respect" while at the same time being disrespectful.

  • UMaine sucks specially UMaine Orono (but basically they all suck). They are 4th rate colleges in a 3rd rate state.

  • You said so yourself, "it's a symbol of freedom". So why put it on the ground and disgrace it? Why is that you people who hate our country so much, continue to live in it, continue to complain in it and continue to take it for granted? Leave, go outside of this country and see how crappy everyone else lives. Then come back and rethink your look on the symbols of our country. Actually, scratch that...stay there, stay in some other country. You're so spoiled and you have no clue how the world is.

  • you dont have to respect it, but do not disrespect it!! i am not religious but i dont go standing on a bible or quran for a point.. why? i might not believe there views, but i refuse to disrespect them for there beliefs. live and let live.
