  • Hi, Brenninam - vClone should not slow down your network at all. It uses the exact settings as your PC, since it is a clone. There may be something else going on with the network. If you need assistance troubleshooting the problem, you can contact our Tech Support team.

  • Yes, v.Clone software does work with Vista Home. You are correct, you do not need the software to make a back up.

  • Hi pdj1974. Yes, clones made with the beta will work with the shipping release. v.Clone should be available for download around the end of February. Yes, multiple computers can be cloned onto a single Iomega USB hard disk drive; capacity is the only limitation. At this time, the v.Clone app does not support 64-bit operating systems, and it is required to either create or run clones. These requirements can be found here: protection-suite.iomega-web(dot)com/vclone.

  • When will it be accessable for download?

  • The beta is available for download now! Final software will be ready around the end of February.

  • how long does it takes to download???

  • Will this work with Vista Home BASIC? B/c that's what I'm using. Even if it doesn't, I don't need this software to back up my drive, right?

  • Are Clones made with the Beta expected to work with the final version? (or upgradeable?)

When is it expected to be released?

Does it support an unlimeted number of different clones? (depending on disk size :-))

Can the Host Computer be a 64 bit edition of Windows 7? (I know the cloned OS can't, but it is not clear if the mentioned 32 bit limitation of hosts only is for XP or also for Vista and 7)

  • iomega's parent company, EMC, makes a software product "retrospect" which includes the ability to make a "bootable backup"...which is in effect a virtual clone or "disk image" of your entire hard drive. Now they are bringing the same functionality to the PC world without the trouble of having to make separate boot up cd. Can't wait to download it when it is available.
