David Gilmour,Roger Waters,Rick Wright, and Nick Mason reunite after 24 years for the Live 8 benefit concert. The first time the band has played together since they played at Earls Court in London on 17 June 1981.

I am SO happy Rick Wright was alive for this wonderful reunion. He was in my ways my favorite band member. It's a shame his influence waned sharply as Roger over-asserted himself more and more... although to be fair his drug habit and later seclusion didn't help.
Rick Wright was a gentle soul with the most unique voice in the band IMO, and played a crucial role in the band's earlier years. RIP Rick [1943-2008] and Syd [1946-2006] we all miss you!!
