Original Jazz piece. I've been playing classical piano for many years, and have become a "slave to the notes"; Jazz and improv playing are foreign to me. I only wish I had had sense enough as a kid to get 'into' Jazz. But I enjoyed taking the Rhythm changes and "breaking out of the classical box" a little. This may have a strong "retro" feel; I must be going back to some of the sounds I heard as a kid, even if I wasn't inclined back then to feast on them. It's not that I'm begging for mercy-- but don't be too harsh on this old codger who's jumping into some unfamiliar territory.

  • Thanks, Jimi. It does have a 'retro' feel, doesn't it? I'll have to check out Errol Garner's stuff.
