This short video records one of the first trials of machine-lay clay pavers. It is and experiment, a trial, not an actual working project. The whole point of the exercise was to highlight problems and to help develop a suitable format for the market.

Comments about how ineffective it is really miss the point.

  • My guys are faster than that. After you get it set where it needs to be, you gotta fix the pavers and the base that you just fucked up, and now takes twice as long. Stop being lazy...

  • @fordman0429

It's a *trial*. As explained in the text, it's a pilot to see if machine laying of clays would be possible. Please read the description before opening your potty mouth!

  • To the nay sayers out there, do think the farmers back in the 1800's would say the same about all the fancy new machines that harvest our crops?? Or mend the fields?? It is called progression! There are tools and machines for everything out there.. Do you remember the story of the man against the machine tunneling????When this thing gets fine tunned I can guaranty it will go into production!! Then what ya gonna do :)

  • Its a nice concept that could be improved with the following mods.

mount the gab on a 2 axis dolly system so that a second operator can manually slide it side to side or front to back for quicker position fine tuning. This could speed up the pickup and drop time.

Install a vibrator or slide hammer that works on the horizontal axis to help push the bricks closer together once they have been placed

  • Not enough mexicans? or what?

  • useless.........

  • @panner01 Ummm. Actually the Nigger dies at the end of that story.......So......

  • Interesting machine.Even with that machine I'll take my 8 man bricking crew every day of the week.8 minds 16 hands all thinking alike and working together towards the same goal and that's why we are very good@ what we do.

  • it would be better to have a machine that had 2 chambers that stacked them different directions, then a laser guided computer laid them at a very fast rate by either mechanical arms or some kind of conveyer system

  • this machine has been out years and is very successful on large areas. it lays thousands of sq meters a day with perfect accuracy, only if it has a good team operating it.... you should see the plate compactor then.... haha

  • @cormaicmaccormaic ha! trial.. NO it's pathetic

  • @fordman0429 Totally, anyone can be faster than that stupid thing- It is a sort of laziness. really is....

  • I understand that it's a trial, but why do u gotta be so lazy to even come up with a machine for this. Here is the reason there are so many people out of work, because of the "a single machine can do the work of ten men" attitude. How you gonna make money when machines do every damn thing for you? Keep it simple and lay them by hand, thus giving people jobs. Technology will be the end of mankind...
