I actually first heard this song through Johnny Cash's version, and only recently listened to NIN's version. I like both. Johnny's version just has that legendary status that surrounds him. And his emotional output he pours out of his soul into this song is just...legendary. One of the-if not the best-cover of all time, in my opinion. This is why I hesitated to cover this song, even after so many requests.

Even JC's version made Trent Reznor-creator of the song- cry, after he heard and saw the video.

I miss Johnny Cash.
