I bought a used electric motor and some buffing gear - nothing elaborate but it should do the job

  • Your pub's cool. Looks like an old english boozer

  • @charliebigplumz Thanks! That's prettty much what I'm working towards. What I really need is a few kegs and some taps behind the bar, but something tells me that having 50 gallons of draught at my disopsal is a bad idea! Cheers & thanks!

  • That was a great result on your first stem. Waiting with baited breath to see all the pipes finished and polished. They should be an asset to your collection.

    Cheers, Alan

  • @SpainPipe Thanks very much, Alan - I'll try to post something once all 17 are done. I admit I'm taking my time because I'm really enjoying the process! Cheers and thanks!

  • Great video! I need to find myself an electric motor like that. I'm currently using my power drill to buff/polish my pipes and it's not ideal.

    Cheers!

    Mike

  • @Flieger671 Thanks Mike...it's been working very well. Mine is 1/2 hp and it gets very warm to the touch after about 15 minutes use, so I"m not sure I'd go for anything less than 1/2hp. Were my workspace larger, I would have probably bought a used lathe, which might be a little more versatile, but for $20 it's doing the job nicely so far. Best regards.

  • Wonderful Pub. Gives me some great ideas. Thanks for the pipe restoration videos, they're helping me along with my own restoration immensely.

  • @herecomescharlie When i saw the tetleys beer mat i thought you must be sat in your local. You should get an old fruit machine, that'll really finish it off. Great videos by the way. Im thinking of buying some estate pipes to clean up myself

  • Great video! You have well-equipped workspace. I also use an electric motor for polishing, but not so powerful. Cool polishing wheels, obviously they do their job well!
