Just 1 minute of cute!

In 2010 California Wildlife Center cared for many orphaned baby skunks. They were raised with care in our incredible 3 room skunk enclosure and released to your yard!

Just kidding- but skunks are a very important part of our ecosystem. Skunks eat rodents and insects including Black Widows and Scorpions!

Skunks are not aggressive and they do not spray where they live. They do not like their own smell.

For tips on skunks in your yard see this site:

http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/skunks/tips/solving_problems_skunks.html

Never handle a sick or injured skunk. Please call your local wildlife rehabilitator.

But to see rehabilitating skunks in action watch this 1 minute video of CUTE!!!!!!!!

  • Yes I have a skunk in my back yard and it sprayed my dog thank you for returning my message

  • @EmilyLovesHerDogs

The good news is that now your dog knows the warning signs and likely won't get sprayed again. My dog has also been sprayed, it's a pain!

Look up website california wildlife center DOT org (won't let me post link here) under "coexisting" then look under "Nesting and Denning" for info on how to encourage them to move along, if that's your goal...

  • Hi what do skunks eat please sub me back thanks

  • @EmilyLovesHerDogs Hi Emily, are you interested in learning what skunks eat in the wild, or while they are rehabilitating?
