@W1LDWESLEY i was taught that trick by a southern lady who knew her stuff. :D mind you she also changed the oil when she knew it was time. my BBF's hubby used to get sick all the time before they were married turned out he had been using the same frying oil for several months. EEWWWW. she has since taught him better. :D cheers!
FYI, if you DO cook fish or something equally strong smelling/flavoring, just fry potato's in the oil, for some reason that removes the strong smell/flavor and the oil can then be used again.
Evilchunk1: yes same thing here. My mom reuses bacon great for a lot of southern cooking and my dad uses it to cook popcorn lol. Also, I've read a lot of old outdoor trail - cooking books and they would call for left over bacon grease from the day before or the morning breakfast. Lol. i still visit my mother and every now and then she asks me If i want any bacon grease lol

Well its great,but use cooking oil 3-5 times is not good idea,2-3 is much better,it can be harmful to health,y to save some ,when its about ur health
