Last week after a victory over Jan Olav Einemo, UFC Heavyweight Dave "Pee Wee" Herman made some father inflammatory remarks concerning the state of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Most notably that BJJ is dead and it has no use in MMA these days. Well the members of our panel took umbrage with these statements. Rorion Gracie, Gracie Black belt Ed O'Neill , and UFC Feather weight Javier Vasquez discuss why they think Herman is dead wrong.

@arctrooper86 Einemo is an elite BJJ grappler, look at his accomplishments at ADCC, of course BJJ isnt irrelevant in MMA im not agreeing with him, but he has earned the rights to say it until he gets submitted I suppose.

@cdizzzzle To be fair he has never faced an elite level grappler (BJJ grappler that is), the best BJJ grappler he has faced was Einemo and even he is not an elite grappler.

What hes trying to say is striking is making a return and hes right, Wrestling is still at the top their is no question about that though. BJJ is still very effective but as Pee Wee learned the hard way its not so much the submissions, its the defensive bJJ , like when someone mounts you ( COUGH COUGH ) putting them back into half guard and standing up.....thank you Struve.
