In 1978 I drove a Mazda Luce with a 2000cc rotary. I could chirp the tires in 3rd gear. Man, that was fun. That car was quick. Probably a high 14 low 15 car in stock condition.

I love the Rotary cars. dont see too many 3 rotors in my neck of the woods. (Detriot)
but these big turbo or supercharged Hemi's and BBC make 2000,2500, and 3000 HP
