Beatriz Recinos, an undergraduate student from El Salvador discovered a dwarf galaxy while studying on a Global Undergraduate Exchange Program. She studied oceanography and geophysics at Humboldt State University in Northern California.

When she returned to El Salvador she received a "Building a Fulbright Future" Grant. She and another UGRAD wrote and taught a class on oceanography/geophysics to a group of gifted youth--as well as a university sophomore level physics lab module. The class was based on what Beatriz learned at classes at Humboldt. Previously, these classes were not available and that is why they wanted to teach it.
