@robertsondjyt : Yes it is a scottish tune alright, I'm from Ireland myself, in Ulster, and my grandfather used to play this tune too, it is well known around Ulster and the rest of Ireland as a Scottish tune.. But Particularly Ulster, as Scottish tune's where (and still are) very popular among Irish traditional fiddle players
Hi from Scotland. A super rendition of a great old tune. Way back in the 1950's when I was a boy, I remember my father often played this tune - part of his repertoire of Scottish Country Music - on a big button-key accordion. Maybe it's originally a Scots/Irish tune?
I particularly loved the sound of the banjo on this piece. It looks a kinda vintage instrument. Would love to know what it is and, alas, my ears can't tell.. is it steel or nylon strings?
Like you music! FYI Appalachian is pronounced "Appalatchian" down here...yes I live in the Appalachians. We don't call it the "Appalaychians" :) That's a northern (yankee) way of saying it.
nice very very nice
