@wildgift2 Actually the employment agency hired her and then sent her to Whitman. She claimed to be legal and have all the legal docs as she provided such info to the employment agency. Then it turns out that she lied about her status and forged docs. Hence Whitman had no choice, but to fire her in order to comply with the law. Whitman didn't betray anyone's trust. Diaz betrayed Whitman big time & deserved to be fired.

This si not an idiotic problem. Because this shows meg whitmans stand on illegal immigration. I think that it shuldnt matter that Yes Diaz lied and she tricked town and country, and Whitman recieved the letter...but if the woman was honest and doing her respectful job for a number of years. I dont understand wy whitman would fire her. The relationship is what counts and should not the fact that she has papers. The u.s should comply with character rather than how someone entered the country.

I do care that a millionaire willfully circumvents the law because she is a millionaire and thinks she can get away with it. You rich folks might think it's no big deal, but to average people, Whitman screwed up on two counts. Hiring her. Then firing her so coldly. If you're worried about status, you check early, then if you get that SSA letter, you deal with it again. But once you've worked someone for years, you really owe them some allegiance and support.

From a middle of the road guy. I disagree with your segment. How can you say that this is not a campaign issue? It absolutely is when Ms. Whitman is specifically running on that issue. Also, Ms. Whitman seems insincere when she says "...we love Nicki and she was an extended part of our family..." if true than why wouldnt she help this human get an attorney and stay in the states? Like it or not, whitman has a HUGE credibility and perception issue!
