In this Chaplin silent, Mabel goes home after being humiliated by a masher whom her husband won't fight. The husband goes off to a bar and gets drunk.

This short silent film was taken from the amazing DVD boxset : Chaplin at Keystone by BFI. I recommend for Chaplin fan to grab hold of a copy :)

  • very funny i like the way he walks

  • My God, what a difference in appearance from the old Blackhawk films I used to rent from the library 30 years ago. Amazing restoration -- thank you for posting this.

  • It's so obvious Chaplin has so much more going on than the rest of the cast. Swain has about three expressions and Mabel seems completely bored going through the motions. Still, this short is surprisingly entertaining. The print is beautiful.
