Yes indeed. This is the latest design & engineering remix out of our exclusive Hoboken command center, featuring the Akai Miniak with the Roland TR707 rhythm composer in a mashup showing how mortgage banking invests in economic diversity as a cornerstone of community planning. Or something like that.

The two public domain source reels for the video come from the always-appreciated Prelinger Archive at archive.org; the color clips are from Road To Better Living (1959), with the black and white footage lifted from Birth Of A City, which is undated but might be from around the mid-1950s. Vintage shots of Denver and its suburb of Broomfield are sprinkled throughout the black and white segments.

  • I wonder who the target audience was-nice mix

  • @171ev Thx for watching...the B&W footage was to promote real estate development around Denver...I'm not sure about the color footage; I think it was just a classroom film to explain the role of mortgage bankers

  • "Pleasant vistas from every home? A smart, modern shopping center? Spacious, healthful, exciting living?" Sign me the hell up! Can I drive one of the mechanical monsters that shovel out the solid soil? I'm licensed, you know.

  • @nateellis1 Yo MC Nate! Bonus: YouTube marked your comment as "spam"...maybe too many hyperbolic adjectives! Thanks for watching...I love the stentorian delivery of the b&w footage...almost sounds like Ted Baxter from The Mary Tyler Moore Show

  • Actually, the ending was kind of a mistake but by copy-and-pasting it (with some editing tweaks), we now have the ending as you hear it...sometimes those mistakes are wonderful seeds of additional ideas...thanks for watching!

  • You've got to make an extended version of the instrumental sometime, I keep rewinding the last minute; I'll soon have enough hours of instruction to be a bona fide real estate person.
