Visian ICL (Intraocular Contact Lens) is the latest alternative to LASIK, SBK, and Epi-LASIK. The Staar Collamer Phakic Implant corrects 3 to 16 diopters of nearsightedness with an almost instant return of stable, sharp, clear vision. James Lewis, MD, of the Wills Eye Surgical Network and The Pennsylvania College of Optometry, narrates and performs this surgery. Originally the ICL was considered for patients not suitable for LASIK. It is now considered an alternative that may be better than LASIK for many. There are less halos, starbursts and glare and absolutely no dry eye, regression or corneal issues after surgery. Dr. Lewis uses the Zeiss Visante™ (OCT: Optical Coherence Tomographer) to assess the patients both pre and post-operatively.

  • Thats why im glad i have 20/20 vision

  • @Dbrock575 Guess what, so do these patients after surgery!

  • Question I have really bad stickmitism I don't how to spell it but I'm only 13 is it bad

  • @Swishesonyou123 In the US, we have no access to astigmatism correcting ICLs. Our FDA is trying to keep you safe. Another explanation is that the FDA is dysfunctional and is denying advanced therapy to US residents. At 13, relax, time will solve this for you via technology.

  • Whats the real color of the persons eye? Surely not red

  • @5thAvenueEA The microscope we use is very powerful and light bounces off the retina creating the "RED REFLEX". You can see a similar phenomenon when your point and shoot produces red reflections in your photos. Surgeons actually benefit from the reflex allowing more precise maneuvers.

  • @Attaxable Don't. Of course, mild, normal rubbing is natural and will not hurt your eye. Aggressive rubbing, even without this surgery, is not a good idea.

  • @MrsFrowningClown Doctors wait until your prescription is stable. If your eye changes after that (which is extremely rare) there are options. It is almost never necessary to exchange the implant.

  • Holly shit what if you ever need to chage you perscription!!!???

  • I did three month ago (Italy) ....everything ok , I'm a new man!!

  • wow....i did not feel any of that during the surgery, quite amazing!!!
