How it feels to finish the first draft of your novel

I'm very proud but it is also an anti-climax as there is a long way to go to have a finished manuscript. It is like creating the block of marble and now I have to carve it into Michelangelo's David. Writing is rewriting! Onwards with the edits,

It is hard to know when your draft is really, really finished! Harder still, to get published. Did the book get published?, that is the question, and then whether it sold many copies. ;) And if it was rejected, are you still marketing it?

@NovaScotiaChick Thanks for the comment - and I have been keeping track of progress. I was always going to indie publish the book so it was never submitted for traditional publishing. I launch it in Feb 2011 and it has almost sold 10,000 copies and it's currently August. It's still in the Amazon bestseller lists in several categories - Action Adventure & Religious Fiction (although it's not Christian) - so yes, it's selling & I'm still marketing. Next one is on the way! Thanks
