"and then he just left them" Logan gasped "even Woody?" nodding "even Woody" Eli frowned

Selena held back the smile that wanted to creep onto her lips as she listened to Eli explain every detail of Toy Story 3 dramatically to Logan since he still hadn't watched it

"I probably would've cried" Eli nodded with seriousness on his face "you probably would've since your a sensitive guy" bitting one of his apple slices

This time Selena did laugh both of them turning to look at her "what's so funny mom?"

"nothing, I'm sorry" Logan shook his head "she just doesn't understand Eli" agreeing "it's cause she's a girl"

"hey!" Selena scolded him playfully he just shrugged his little shoulders "so do you want to go to the skatepark later?"

"he can't" Selena told him "oh that's right Nick is going to watch me" Eli finished the sentence for her

"next time then" Logan smiled, giving Selena a sorry look "mom can you just tell him that Logan will take care of me instead"

"no I can't" sighing "you haven't even tried" he whined, Logan intervened "I forgot I actually have to do something, and you should spend time with Nick he seems cool" picking at his pancake "yeah I guess"

Selena stood up "I need to get ready for work" Logan did as well "I'll clean up and then get out of here" nodding "thanks"

While Selena was in the shower Logan and Eli both played around washing the dishes and pans they've used, splashing some water onto Logan's shirt while he laughed "can I ask you something?"

patting his shirt "whats up?" Logan replied "do you have a girlfriend?"

"I don't" that cause his lips to grin widely at Logan "so that means you like somebody?" turning off the water "since when do you talk about girls, are you interested in someone at school?"

Scoffing "no and anyway mom said I can only love her right now" Logan couldn't help but chuckle "you like mom right?"

"she's my best friend" sighing "but sometimes best friends love each other" he continued "and we do"

"so take her out on a date I love you too, then we can really be a family" Logan just kept staring at him as he realize the point of this whole conversation "oh Eli I don't-"

The knocking on the door making him stop looking over at the clock hanging on top of the door he realize he had taken longer than he wanted too "that must be Nick" Eli hopped off of the stool and walked over to open the door

"hey buddy" Nick smiled widely as soon as he saw his son's face "hi" stepping to the side so he could come in "where's your mom?" closing the door "shower"

Logan stepped out of the kitchen "hey" Nick's face immediately harden "hey" Eli looked between the two guys feeling the tension "tell your mom I'll see her later and be good okay" he leaned forward and Eli gave him a tight hug Nick couldn't help but feel his chest tightened at the sight "bye"

Finally Logan left and his eyes turned to Eli "so I was thinking we go out and do something" he told him "like what?"

"indoor rock climbing, maybe?" holding back his smile "I've never done that before"

"so you want too?" nodding "yeah" smiling

"oh your here" both turning to look at Selena, he didn't reply because his eyes busy looking her over even though she is wearing her work uniform she looks beautiful her damp hair falling loosely around her shoulders and only a hint of make-up he always loved to see her like that just effortlessly beautiful

Selena looked down at Eli to hide the blush forming on her cheeks from the way his gaze is looking at her "be good for Nick" brushing his hair back "promise"

"alright I'll be out by nine tonight" looking over at Nick "that's fine" grabbing her purse "see you guys later"

"wait, mom" turning back to look at Eli "yeah?"

"Logan said he loves you and that he'll see you later" he smiled

Taken back by his words Selena only nodded, Nick just looked down at his shoes with his hand in his pockets as he hated hearing those word "alright thanks for telling me" was all she could say through the now awkward filled air
