my dad asked me to teach him to use tivo it took me half an hour to teach him to use the remote and another hour to teach him to use it. it is kinda hard to teach somone from russia who hardly speaks english to use tivo i wanted to stab my eyes out when he asked me to teach him to use my laptop

I know the problem, and my mum had problems with her pc all the time. She was just totally lost in all the defragmantation, hang-ups, viruses and error messages. So I convinced her to buy a mac mini, and never heard of any problems ever again. It just worked.
