The Western Aleutians - Attu, Buldir and Kiska Islands - May/June 2010

Clips and still photos from a May-June 2010 expedition aboard the M.V. Tiglax to the Western Aleutians in the north Pacific. We visited Attu, Buldir and Kiska islands to conduct seabird research. The video is mostly a nod to my fellow travellers but there are some bird shots as well.

Although very beautiful (and lacking in permafrost), Kiska is certainly no place for the faint of heart.

Kiska Island has the worst maritme weather in the world. Over 250 days per year of over cast weather with precipitation. The ground is frozen year round with permafrost.

One of the most fucked up places on earth. No thanks never want to visit that piece of shit place.
