@sonconmas Not two phases, just a double conductor, I've worked on double stranded lines before that were intertwined and not seperate, but, they were energized at distribution voltage. No need for a hot suit, just rubber gloves and sleeves. You can still can draw a pretty good arc with a screwdriver and a insulated bucket truck!

@flanksteak2 I can't speak to that as I'm not a lines-man, but I suspect they look for cable-frey / signs of wear and when they get to the towers I expect they check-out the spacer / isolators...

Michael Brook is apparently the Canadian composer (from Toronto) who did much of the music in this documentary (according to Ianandvicki below) -- hope that helps.
