People always talk about how the experience of watching 70's and 80's baseball was "ruined" by being played in "football" stadia, but they seemingly forget that Cleveland and especially here, the O's, played in "football" parks for many years, with the Mem being perhaps more fondly remembered than the Mistake at the Lake, but remembered fondly nonetheless. O's Park at the Yards harks back to a past that never existed.

From the fuzzy shot of the scoreboard at 1:31 the date of the game was Saturday, August 25, 1962. Orioles won 8-6.
Most of the footage after that is from the bottom of the 6th, when the Orioles scored six runs.

had nothing to do with w/yanks,they were just one program on the station.
'pix was a independent station with limited resources, only cbs and nbc had the depth to develop and broadcast color programming in the early 60's.

@wiedep. Then it was probably WBAL in Baltimore which was then and now a NBC affliliate. I'm just amazed the Yankees didn't use color in their prime of their dynasty with all those great players.

@Ariamaluum not wpix, they didn't go color until '66, i worked there in the 80's

@wiedep. But remember, its the Yankees and New York stations usually had everything.

@Ariamaluum doubt it, few local stations had color equipment then and only nbc had partial color then.
In looking at the Tv cameras the game looked like it was televised in color.
