Dr. Axel Hoos, Medical Lead in Immunology Oncology at Bristol -Myers Squibb, where he is responsible for the Yervoy (ipilimumab).
Ipilimumab is approved in Europe for the treatment of advanced (unresectable or metastatic) melanoma in adults who receive prior therapy.
It works by potentiating the immune system 's Y cell response to allow the body's natural defences to fight disease more effectively by targeting and destroying cancer cell.
