Colin: K8LKC/Joe made the full-auto bug. He said Thomas J. Dunn Co. produced a full-auto bug in 1909 but this is not a copy. Only a few full-auto bugs were made back then, Joe said land line Op's preferred to use semi-auto because they could adjust length of the dashes to compensate for the inductance of the telegraph lines and make copy better. He said this key will most likely not be used much on-air as it really was just "an experiment". Base is made of white corian material. 73 DE Lynn NG9D
What a amazing bug!
Forgive my ignorance but as I've never seen a "double" bug before, is this a commercially bought product or did you make it yourself?
If the latter then I take my hat of to you sir.,
