  • Can't touch the Lennon girls though...

  • Sandi is the most underrated vocalist in Welk's musical family. Her tone and timbre are extraordinary and she blends beautifully with the other lovely ladies.

  • Where's Crazy Larry when we need him???

  • I am so in love with Cissy.

  • @GereDJ wish these hipper than thou rock fans would go away

  • @Mercari1964 silly comment.

  • Good job,, but this arrangement is plain vanilla compared to earlier Richard

Maltby arrangement from around 1970, that appeared on the album "Lawrence

Welk Singers and Orchestra" and was performed on the show.

  • @visaman Great point ! I only noticed your comment just now. That episode of "Are You Being Served"

was the last one made, and that WAS a funny bit. Mr. Spooner, played by actor/singer Mike Berry

(who had a number of hit singles in England earlier) was on the last two seasons (I think) of the

show. Don't know if his version of the tune was ever recorded.

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr: WHA??? You didn't remember Gail and Mary Lou? :-))

We watched the Lawrence Welk show faithfully from the time I was a preteen until the show ended. My friends, bless their hearts thought it was weird... but they let it ride because they knew my sister and I both loved that they did so much Big Band vocal music, that being our "thing" back then. This brings back good memories.

  • @celticgurl93 That was Sandi. She was my fave as a little boy also.

  • I remember hearing this often in the early 70's when I was a young boy, but the only words I knew were "Ratatatata" lol. I had a huge crush on Sandi. When I started watching reruns of the show about 5 years ago, hers was the only name I remembered. They all sang beautifully! I miss seeing quality like this on the TV today.

  • I prefer the Mr. Spooner version of Chanson d'Amour.
