Biblical Women - Jael the Wife of Heber

Jaels story can be found along side Deborahs in Judges Chapters 4 and 5. She like Deborah was a decisive and courageous woman who seized the opportunity to kill Israels most threatening military opponent, Sisera.

Jael is not pronounced "jail" or else it would have been spelled that way. Its origin is Hebrew so the correct pronunciation would be "Yah-el" (two syllables, not one) In English, it would be "Jay-el" Please change this because it really bugs me! Thankyou so much! Oh and also, try to be more enthusiastic when you speak and less monotone..:)

(ibex, wild goat). The wife of Heber the Kenite and slayer of Sisera. Sisera took refuge, after the defeat of the Canaanites by Barak, in the tent of Jael, there being peace between the house of Heber and Jabin, king of Hazor. (Judges 4:17-22),
