actually, the purpose of psychiatry, especially kids, isnt to make people feel good. What makes people happy? religion, love, sports, music, etc...
what psychiatry is supposed to do is get people intact enough so that they can do the things that will make them happy. As I tell families- we are trying to build the basement with meds, all the activities will build the house of wellness so to speak.

I think it's great that the pharmaceutical industry is able to make money off of preschoolers as well with their anti-psychotics. I should look into buying some stocks in those companies, must be a great investment.

You are in-credible. thank goodness. have you ever taken any of the drugs you prescibe for these children? deal with the trauma, the traumatisers and recognise the human condition. If you think knowledge is power it is essential your patients to think that ignorance is bliss. You're an academic but, as a doctor, have you ever made anyone FEEL any better? Can't all that time leaning about suffering be used prevent/alleviate suffering?
