I was born in Eugene in '53.. A lot has changed. Odd politics has destroyed much of the local industrial base. Coffee houses can only employ so many people. Someday perhaps common sense will find it's way back to Eugene. In the meantime, no-growth politics is showing it's ugly side. The only growth industry is public sector.. When you kill the goose that generates the golden eggs, yiou find economic ruin. Marxists find this delightful. American's should wake up.

Liberals have wrecked Eugene, and are ruining Oregon. They like to spend other peoples money, but aren't willing to give up theirs. When you tax employers out of business, then there IS no business!

i left eugene on 12.18.1999 and i live in germany now...i must admit it's hard not to cry seeing all thiese vidios on how my home town, where i lived and loved, just collapsing. it breaks my heart!

Nice job, Aaron. I live in Eugene, too, and you've done an excellent job of presenting the current economic problems here. The timber and transportation problems are statewide and regional.
