Burrard Inlet Fireworks Society
The Burrard Inlet Fireworks Society is comprised of the District of West Vancouver, District of North Vancouver, City of North Vancouver, John Clark (District of West Vancouver) and Mike Shardlow (Canada Place Corporation). The purpose of the Society is to provide, design and implement fireworks displays in Burrard Inlet for the enjoyment of the Societys citizens to commemorate and to enhance celebrations in recognition of municipal, provincial and federal holidays.
The Fireworks Show:
The Burrard Inlet Fireworks Society proudly presented the inaugural Canada Day Burrard Inlet Fireworks show at 10:30pm on Sunday, July 1st. Fireworks were once an integral part of Canada Day festivities on the Lower Mainland and the Society was thrilled to renew this celebratory component of our nations birthday. The simultaneous two barge, high altitude display was viewable from several locations. In a truly unique way, this multi-community event brought Canadas diverse citizens together for 25 minutes of focused time to honour our great nation.
Hundreds of thousands guests viewed the fireworks show from several different communities.
The show was produced by David Clark at Concept Fiatlux, an award winning pyrotechnic firm. The two barge simultaneous show was a first for Concept Fiatlux and required exceptional timing and logistical planning.
