I am a German, who is here for college, and I love and respect this country for the Amazing opportunity that it has given me. I am not Christian (I can best be described as Pagan), but may whatever god or gods there is/ are out there shine his/ her/ their grace upon your nation and mine. And shall we ever stand tall in the face of tyranny, proud, together, in brotherhood and unity. May Germany and America, always stand tall together as allies and friends.

I grew up a Jehovah's Witness, so patriotism was looked down upon. I never saluted the flag, or stood up during the Star Spangled Banner at any event. When I grew up and got my own mind, I looked deep into my heart to find what feels good and right. Now I don't go knocking on people's doors trying to change their religion, I dress up and give candy on Halloween, and I get chills when I hear THIS song!

I know this sounds unpatriotic, but I hate the Star Spangled Banner. It's like no one can sing it without screeching/yelling at the top of their lungs. It's such an obnoxious in-your-face song. It would sound so much prettier if people just sang it gently like people normally do with this song.

@LaceHearts Not unpatriotic at all. I'm not a fan of the gymnastic renditions of our National Anthem. I don't like the screeching either or the added notes zipping up and down. It could be a much prettier song if so many liberties wouldn't be taken with it.
