Workin' Man Blues - Johnny Hiland - 2009 Dallas guitar festival

Another Merle Haggard chestnut kicked in the butt by JHB. This one is really fantastic, super ensemble playing from Solon, Cody & Christian and a really funky/swangin' groove from Johnny, almost Gattonesque in certain parts. This band is insanely good, support them.

u ever heard those people who claim they cant learn guitar because their fingers are too short and fat and stuff..... johnny hiland pretty much killed that theory.. then sling legally blind in the mix, theres nothin bad to say about this man.

Now, here is finally someone on Y-T with a truly intelligent comment, for a change, thanks man. That's always been my "excuse" to not play, but "dude" gets it..........Whether or not Johnny is an enigma of sorts, if you've actually seen him live a few times and then spoken with him, you would GET the sheer excellence of his approach and philosophy. I've had the honor of living in DC for several years in the 80's when Gatton ascended to the throne of "semi-obscurity". Just embrace

@Strokher then how bout moving out of the way and let me stand and watch him - I keep coming back over and over to watch this ridiculously excellent video, because it's as close as I can get to 'standing up and watching this guy.'
