In real life (as in not this movie), would Forrest actually qualify for active military service? Ok, in the 60s their standards may have been lower, but I'm thinking today.

the man has a low IQ we all know that but what i got from the meaning of the film is the a person with a Low IQ knows the difference between right and wrong more than people with an average or higher IQ
-
@JamminJamieFilms oh lol "im not a smart man"
-
@AngusTheWolf I meant its so sad. :L
@thirentpx that is the point, and Forrest Gump is intended to have a low iq. the whole point of the movie is to draw the line between lack of what society deems functional intelligence (intelligence quotient) and overall potential as a human being. The movie is intended to state that everyone has their usefulness to society.

people need to stop saying Forrest Gump has a low IQ, I think he was a genius....if u watched closely...he set the record time for gun accembly....was a ping pong champion.....became a millionaire....but did not care about the achievements because he values love, his promises and people
