Whale watching off Redondo Beach, California. September 10, 2010.
This is Part 2 of the video, it contains even more incredible footage than Part 1. Both are worth seeing. I could have made short excerpts but wanted to capture the overwhelming feeling of being in the presence of so many whales for hours.
Details: Blue whales feeding right off Redondo and hanging out for a while---this has not happened in anybody's memory and may not happen again; we saw about 20 whales. Voyager boat is docked at the Redondo Pier. Daily trips noon-3 p.m. (but we were out until almost 4 p.m.) $25 (it's a steal). No telling how long the whales will be there but some think it could be up to another month.
Video was shot on Flip camera; also took a few photos with my iPhone 2G. The rest--much better quality--are by naturalist Linda Barkley on the same boat ride.
I left in the original sound but also added a soundtrack, which I assembled from various whale sounds found on the internet plus one Apple loop.
Soundtrack posted here (http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=9657795&q=hi&am...)
@SouthBaySmith Yes, your observation is correct: I did add a soundtrack made mostly of whale sounds, I am a working musician after all. But it's not exactly a secret since I mention that fact in the video description. I have seen other whales videos where people added music. Glad you like the footage! Pretty amazing that these blue whales decided to spend all this time with us :)

It sounds like you added a looped mix of whale noises, EvynCharles. I've been checking out the Blues over the last few weeks as well, but they haven't made ANY sounds like this. The clicks, the squeeks, the high pitched stuff...those are all some other type of animal.
I like your video footage though!
