  • @cvcomp Good stuff! Is this the Online Senate petition or an entirely new petition? Will it also go on record in the Senate?

    Cheers.

  • @Cakerolled No offence. But your shepherd awaits.

  • they'll do what they want anyways.

  • i'm sorry I've putt my name down and knowing the Australian spine & government i have a really bad feeling this is going to happen, just in-case i'm gonna start saving money and start working on my Canadian ..at least there you don't get put in the slammer for 2 months for 7 grams of weed... i really hope this country chokes on its own ass

  • @calumcoburn To be honest Getup! is a steam-valve for activism. It's done little in the way of effectiveness in opposing the filter other than a TV ad and online petition that isn't recognised on the Parliamentary record. They have a policy to take donations and spend wherever they want, so effectively if you donate to stop the filter, they might just divert it to "climate change".

They pay attention to emails yes but a House of Reps petition on the record is by far the most effective.

  • @WeAreChangeBrisbane Please check out getup's methods. They send an email and keep track of how many have sent emails. You'll gather thousands this way rather than hundreds. Parliamentarians do pay attention to this method. Suggest also seeing what help getup can offer.
