He may sing a lot of sour notes, etc; but he's singing songs the angels can't sing. Sing on Bill Monroe

@amosclifford Well said....A great observation.
Maybe we can vote, and work our way out of tyranny.
We have a year more to survive the assault.

@amosclifford The Hillbilly sound was often off key at times. Check out Stringbean, Jimmy Swan, Don Fowler, Dick Fowler, and especially Luck Hill's "Wait for Me" from 1957 youtu[dot]be/7xyOjj-bTLw he has a very soothing voice ;-). Check out HillbillyBoogie1 channel for the many uptempo songs that they called Hillbilly music that gave birth to the Country music phenomena .

@punarvasudosha No doubt. Ralph Stanleys "Oh Death" sends chills up my spine every time. If the "O Brother Where Art Thou" version of "Oh Death" doesn't raise the hair on the back of your neck, you might already be dead.

this is kinda bad. It sounds like it's a pretty sweet song. Gonna keep looking for a good version

@adamtheham that comment was so epic.
@kcaj789 Both Jack White and Bill Monroe hit a lot of sour notes. But the music is beautiful anyway. They both sing from a "perfection-free" zone. Most of our people long to sing but do not.. We live within a strange tyranny we've created where we believe if we can't sing perfectly, it is not beautiful. So we live the dimmer lives of holding in our voices. Gratitude to all musicians and ordinary folk who show us another way.

I needed this to confirm that the Jack White version of this song is garbage. Mission accomplished.
